Its quite simple. Because the sun is so powerful, an emmissive material's multiplier needs to be set really high if it is to show, so just keep wanging it up until it shows - maybe in the 10-50,000 level - try it out.

Re: vray sun and sky and emissive materials problem

          Hi all ,

Excuse me for my newbie experience , but I just bought Vray For sketchup , as many others. I'm french , I don't use vray normally , I come from Hypershot. I wanted to get Vray in order to make some displacements on my texture , that is impossiblez for hypershot. So , I had this light problem too , and I saw your solution. The main problem , is that I may be too stupid to find the option in the Vray option panel , to decrease the light or anything else from your solution...

I don't know where to enter the value you gave (50,000)...

          If you could help me...

I tried many other render engines , like hypershot , maxwell , etc , but I eared about Vray , its simplicity of use , etc. So I deceded to test. I got the manual too , but I can't find the information about the emissive problem.

Can you help me , diving in my stupidity ?

for emissive intensity go to your material editor, select the emissive layer in your emissive material and then u see intensity. For omni or rectangular light, just right click on the lightsource and at the bottom of the menu go to V-ray for Sketchup and select the light. Then enter the value as multiplier.
