How do I get Vray to render a view with a section plane, when I try it just shows the building as full as if the section plane is not there..

Basically you can't render a section as you see it in sketchup.
You have to either copy the file, delete the half you don't want and then render, or you can, carefully, put all the bits you don't want on a seperate layer, turn that layer off, and then render.
You will still have to deal with the open cuts where wall thicknesses are exposed, and painting the inner faces black is one solution.
