    TUTORIAL: Animation using Distributed Render

    1. You will first need download and install the ruby script "flightpath" you can get the free download at http://www.smustard.com/

    2. For you unfamiliar with the flightpath tool, basically the idea is that you create a path like an arch or circle and flightpath will create a new scene for every segment of the arc or circle. For instance if you create and arc and that has 300 segments, this is done by specifying the two end points of the arc and before specifying the bulge you can type the number of segments the arch will consist of for example... 300s. Keep in mind every scene you create is one frame of video; so if you are looking to do a 10 sec video at 30 frames per second, you will need to create an arc with 300 segments.

    3. Once you have your arc created with the appropriate number of segments you will need to right click on the arc and choose flight path. The menu will give you a few options for camera targets, so choose one and pick your target (and/or targets).

    4. A dialog box will pop up labeled flighthrough rate and you will need to specify your feet per second as 1 and pick your FOV as appropriate. Sketchup will then produce the same number of scenes for segments in the arc you have created.

    5. In your model info in sketchup you will need to specify your scene transitions to 1 sec and your scene delay at 0.

    6. At this point, assuming that you have multiple machines set up for distributed render, all you have to do is press "Render" and it should render using all the multiple machines selected for all scenes created.

Viola!... Animation using Vray Distributed Render!!!

Re: TUTORIAL: Animation using Distributed Render

    Thank you very much.
    A really comprehensive tutorial.

Now I only need to learn how to set up the settings for distributed rendering. (I'll look it up).

    Cheers,
    Biebel
