  • burn spots from the sun

    Hello,
I am having some problems with the lighting in my renders and was hoping someone could help me out with some answers. I my renders tend to look dark so I bump up the intensity of the sun to brighten up the space. When I bump up the intensity, I get burn marks on the walls from the sun. How can I fix this? I don't want my renders to be dim.

Re: burn spots from the sun

Are you refering to your other posting showing an interior with sunlight coming in?
If so, then you need to
    a) use a more appropriate visopt as recommended in that thread
    b) to get the scene brighter you may need to insert an invisible rectangular light (just like a photogropher would with flash or reflectors) to add light to the dark areas, but do it subtly until you get the effect you are after.

As you have found, if you increase the suns power, you will just end up with more contrast.

Thanks David. I will try that. How long have you been using V-ray? You seem to really know your stuff inside out.
