I have a scene where I want the sun to enter the room. there is a glass with an glass vismat. SHould I remove the glass or I just increase the sun intensity or size?

The sun should enter the room without doing either of the things you suggest.

Try this - with the shadows on in sketchup. Create a box. create a glass material (opacity 0). apply this to the sunny side of the box. go around the back, remove the back of the box and render - the sun should be shining through. If not then make sure you are using glass (architectural).
