importing from acad to sketchup???

hi everyone.
i'm completely new to this forum and have some q's.
can someone tell me what am i doing wrong??
when i import a dxf or dwg file from acad to sketchup and i hit the render button.
my objects won't be diplayed in the render window.
is there anysetting that i should change or something like that????

Are you using the original V-Ray for SketchUp (VfSU) release, or servicepack1?

The original version had a bug where groups or components some times would not render. I have only experienced this with groups and I could allways fix it by convverting the group into a component. You can convert a group to component by right clicking the griup and use the option of the context menu.

You are right, thomthom, but Damien said once, that it's a kind of material issue, I mean, vray don't recognize the material, and, when you render, that object (group) it's invisible for vray.

But DWG and DXF doesn't contain any material information, does it? It's just the mesh.

joo peeps.
i just found it out.
its all about eploding the object once and you done.
the reason i've ask is because i'm not so familiar with modeling in SU.
my modeling power reveal in acad.
but for rendering i like the SU way or studio max.
hope this will bring some clearance for other users

Sounds like the group/component bug in the original release then.
