I have rekindled my interest in rendering with VRAY4SKup. Does anybody have any suggestions for a best practice setup using materials. I will mainly be doing exterior commercial renderings. I have created many storefronts that I slap on a building but the materials keep getting messed up.

    Re: Best Practices

If you use the latest SR1, then

    1) Vray materials are created automatically - to match the SU ones.
    2) If you set up a template you can save the most commonly used render settings and materials in the template.
    3) If you 'import' your shopfront models then I believe they will take on the attributes of the commonly set-up materials (e.g. 'chrome') - I did a simple test with some cubes and this worked.
    4) However, my experience is that if you insert 'components' then for some reason vray creates seperate materials for each component - so don't do it!!

    Hope this helps
