  • Saving render times

I got a series of large images to render. I'm wondering how I can save some render time.

I was thinking of generating IR and LC map of all the scene in a smaller resolution, merging the IR and LC map for all of the scenes into one map. Would that work, and how much smaller can I go? half the size, a third?
Please mention what V-Ray and SketchUp version you are using when posting questions.

    Re: Saving render times

For IR, yes, that will work (and definitely save time). For LC, it won't, as there's no way to merge saved LC info. Check out the tutorial below for some info on IR calcs from multiple views. In terms of resolution, it doesn't matter what you calculate either one at, since LC never is tied to resolution and IR only uses resolution to determine sample placement.

      Very good tips !

can anyone explain fly through and path tracing setting for light cache way?

Can we use them for multi-scene render?

Can't use Fly Through right now...Path tracing will do a progressive render. Check out the link below
