  • ASGVIS, you need to work more in Tutorials...

I am very disappointing that they don't explain for Specify sketchup via small videos how make things work, please make simple small videos as training, not the expensive training that you bring for 8 people....Again If we can't learn the soft never will be for all...Just small brain info...

    Take my advise.

PS. I get some help from the forums but all is basic for Max or Rhino, why you do not spend more time and money in tutorials that work in sketchup not in other programs and ask to do the same procedures???? That's wrong..... ???
The best that I can do is keep learning, and the Renderings are just a small step to get real.

V-Ray is still V-Ray no matter what application it's hosted in. Though, V-Ray for Rhino will look more similar than V-Ray for Max.

In both Rhino and SU you have the same buttons and the same option windows.
Please mention what V-Ray and SketchUp version you are using when posting questions.

Re: ASGVIS, you need to work more in Tutorials...

I think the other two responses summed it up fairly well, hence the lack of my own. There's plenty of information out there to learn how to use V-Ray, its just a matter of whether you want to use it. We have the manual, the tutorials on our site, the video tutorials we just made. Not to mention the loads and loads of resources that are out there on the web. A large majority translate to vfSU very well, and others require just a little bit of thought to make them work. I find these requests for "more tutorials" some what disconcerting because they typically come from people who haven't looked through what's currently available. There's a lot available and if you take the initiative to look through them and try to understand them, then you'd find there isn't as much of a need for more as you think.

Tutorials are not easy to make, and require a lot of time and effort. Therefore, its really prohibitive to just make more and more when there are other versions out there that are just as good. My time is much better spent answering the questions that people have when using vray. Not only does that help people out with the specific issue that they're having, others can then read my response and learn something from them as well. I enjoy helping people out when they have a problem with V-Ray, but I'm not one for spoon feeding. Considering how many people don't even look at the tutorials that I've already written, I just don't see how writing more are going is going to solve the issue. Just be a little more proactive, and ask questions. The questions you have after the fact are probably going to be more useful anyway.

I agree with dalomar. I am also a begineer but since i have started using Vray from august this year, I leant a lot from this forum. People here are very helpful and not to mention moderators. They are always helpful. The best way to learn is start using it post your scene and question and you will get the help you needed. Its also worth searching for a topic that you have question with in this forum. I see images from nomeradona, stefanq, 40th etc. expert here and i think when would i be able to achieve this type of quality? But then its all their hard work and experience with this tool. I think if you are in this forum that shows you have enthusiasm to learn this tool and what could be the best way than playing with different settings? You may come up with something new and interesting results which may be helpful to others in this forum, if you share.
            best of luck
