Is it possible to have vray keep the edges on when it renders? We have a floor plan imported in from AutoCAD and the client wants to see that below the the 3D spacial massing (showing through). Is there a possible way to do this through Vray?

    Thanks!

V-Ray won't do lines as it needs some actual geometry to render. Beyond that I'm not 100% sure of what you're asking for. Check out the Toon material (new in SR 1.5) and see if that does the trick for you. If that doesn't do it for you, than you may have to use screen shots or post work to what you're looking for.

one thing that you can do is to export the su image.. then the render image.. you can show those line by compositing the two images togeher... put the su exported image on top of the render image and play on those blending modes of the top layer.

There is a way to do this within sketchup, as it is a pain to try and do an overlay in photoshop.

You can use this ruby - http://www.sketchucation.com/forums/...linders#p88620

I will usually convert lines to tubes, and change the # of sides to 3 or 4, the width to 1/2" and the color to black. You can select all visible lines (and faces) and run the script. It takes a few minutes, but you will then have renderable linework on your final output. For an extra large model, change the number of sides to 2 and perform this task in sections to keep sketchup from crashing. Give it a shot...it works well.

tubes.. well... if u have a lot o time...
better use the photoshop blend layer hard light... i used several times and works fine... make sure 2 images are same size..

dont use hard light that affects the colours. use Multiplier, that filters all the white out and leaves the black of the lines
