  • Material Mapping

I have a problem with materials. I add a new vray material and add a bump map and the preview looks good, but when I render, the texture is repeated extremely small. Does anyone have a cure for this?

This only happens if I add a bump map. The material by itself works fine.

    Re: Material Mapping

The issue is that SU will not add any texture coordinates to an object unless there is an image applied to it within a SU material. So, if you've just got a regular material with a solid color, then there's no image, no texture coordinates, and its super small. Basically you need to have the topmost diffuse layer in your material have an image with it so that you can then scale the texture in SU. You could a) have a "dummy" layer on top of the actual diffuse which could contain the bump map and be set to completely transparent. Or b) make a small thumbnail (can be as small as you'd like) of the color you want to apply and use that instead of just picking a color. Both of those approaches will allow you to scale how the texture is applied to the object.

Thanks for the reply, but I don't understand. Could you post a couple of screen grabs please?
