Slow render start

I have a model, only about 9megs in size and it takes anywhere from 5 to 20 minutes to start the actual rendering. I have similar models in size and complexity and usually they only take 1 minute maximum to start. Any ideas?

Unfortunately not, running that ruby script is the only way to speed things up. It's a shortcoming of SU's programming that makes it very difficult for VfSU to read it's material assignment properly.

After you've run that ruby, you should find VfSU starts rendering at least ten times faster.
