light setting is below, ??? my question is how come structures didn't cast shadows, like handrail, columns...

    Global Switches:
Lights, Hidden Lights,Default Lights and Shadows are on
    Environment:
    GI (20), Background (10)
    Indirect Illumination:
GI (on); Primary Engine (IR map); Secondary Engine (LC)

    Thanks for your help!

    Re: interior lights setting

It would be helpful if you posted an image of what you're seeing. When people start out working with GI, they think there aren't any shadows because the shadows themselves are so soft. That is what I think you're running into, but without seeing anything I can't really tell. All shadow stuff should be on by default, so you would have to explicitly remove shadows to not see them.

          Re: interior lights setting

Looks to me that most of the scene is in shadow. You only got a small strip of daylight that creeps in. The rest is lit by bounced light. When you light is bouncing around from every direction you won't get a distinct shadow. Like you get outside on a clouded day, you barely see the shadows.
Please mention what V-Ray and SketchUp version you are using when posting questions.

            thank you.
do you mean i have to set a rectangular light if i want somehow to cast shadow onto floor from columns and handrail? in VRay Sketchup, is there any way to limit rectangular light cast shadow only with limited items as it works in 3D Max?

              Re: interior lights setting

Pretty much....that light is so soft that there won't be any distinct shadows. You're going to need a definitive light source to really get some sharper, or stronger shadows.

No there isn't a way to only cast shadows for certain objects.

                thank you.
i set my physical camera with ISO 500, F-stop 6, SS 30 for that rendering. what would you suggest to adjust my camera and enviroment lights & rectangular light in order to get proper result for this interior rendering. (it's quite hard for me right now since i don't have interior rendering experience)

                your help is really appreciated!!!
