  • color mapping...??

    hi guise,
    when i look into different tutorials i seen different color mapping options ,please any body tell me ,what is the basic thing which have to consider while the selection of the color mapping.....?

      Color mapping is the process of adjusting the color spectrum of visible an non-visible colors (ie colors brighter than white) so that they lie within the visual range. Linear is allows the colors to lie where they are, but the other main flavor that actually does something is some sort of exponential color mapping. Exponential Color mapping will have colors approach white, but not increase beyond white. This is very useful in dynamic situations (ie places where you'll have lots of darks and lots of brights) but may not be as useful in even lighting situations. Some of the different types of exponential color mapping apply this concept via different means, with HSV Exponential being my personal favorite.
