  • Texturing woes

    Okay. Yet another question.

I've been experiencing a strange issue with textures being swapped somehow. Doesn't happen all the time, but often enough to be annoying.

    Allow me to explain.

Yesterday I modeled an interior. I painted a concrete map on the walls. Then I imported the appropriate vismat. I then turned my attention to a couple of columns (these were components, the walls were not). These I painted with another concrete map. Again, I imported the appropriate vismat (yes, it was a different one than the first one).

    So far, so good.

Yet, when I rendered, the colums somehow ended up with the same material as the walls. This has happened before, and I find it hugely puzzling.

Oh ... SU7, latest build of VfSU.

    Ideas, anyone?

    Re: Texturing woes

    Hi Stinkie,

By any chance did you use the same diffuse map for both concrete materials? I ran into this bug a while back where I had polished concrete and unfinished concrete materials in the same model which referenced the same original diffuse texture map. I actually can't remember what the workaround was, but it's probably to save a second (but identical) diffuse map with a different name and assign that to your second material.

    Hope this helps,

      Hi Jackson.

Nope, I used different maps. Thanks for the tip, though.
