    Hey guys,

I am currently working on a full animation of a house and Im wondering if other people have successfully made an animation and have any tips or tricks to share.

Has anyone tried a Animation with LC rather than QMC? right now i have it set up with IR + QMC
and it works but does anything work better?

    any insight would be great.

    Thanks

    Re: Animations

Right now there's no specific advantage to using LC or DMC. Each one will have to be calculated on a per frame basis so its more or less about which one will take less time. There might be some splotchiness/flickering that could result from using Light Cache since the tendency will be to use a lower amount of subdivisions. I'd personally test a short version of the animation (2-3 seconds) and see if it was better/faster with LC or DMC. If I didn't have the time to test it, I'd just go with DMC.

There is an unsupported mode with LC that is specifically meant to be used with fly throughs that does offer an advantage to using LC. It will compile scene sample for all the camera positions along the path into one structure, which keeps the interpolation consistent (ie no flicker due to splotchiness). That should be fully functional with the next full version, and its not much more involved than doing the IR prepass.
