  • Distributed Rendering for Animations

I'm trying to use distributed rendering in order to speed up the rendering process for an animation, but my problem is when I start rendering, the slave computers will only help render the first frame, and then never show up again.

Is there a setting I have to change in order to keep the slave computers rendering every frame in the animation?
    I am currently using V-Ray 1.49.01.
    SketchUp 8.0.11752
    Windows 7 Professional-64 bit
    Intel(R) Core(TM) i5 K655 @ 3.20GHz
8.00GB of RAM, 1.2TB Hard Drive

I found the temporary solution to fix this by making it render 1 fps, but put the scene transition to a high number like 50.

Yes, there's is a problem with DR and animations. Search the forum for the topic. I can't remember, but I wonder if there where workarounds.

The temp fix doesn't seem to work past a certain frame, its back to 4 threads on my main computer! FIXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX THIS!

We've done practically everything to try and get this to work. It will require a complete rewrite of the DR spawner in order for this to be supported directly.

So, if I export my sketchup to 3DS + Vray, and render it, will it be a 1/1, and will it load the same render settings that I saved in Sketchup?

Not sure i fit's possible to match cameras. Does 3DS format contain camera info?

In any case, your VfSU settings won't transfer.

                  Re: Distributed Rendering for Animations

No, I don't believe that 3ds supports any camera information. Besides, even if it did, I don't think SU exports it. The short story is that there's no real streamlined way to transfer at the moment. The cameras could potentially be scripted, but the materials/settings don't really have any solutions to offer.
