  • Components working with V-Ray

    Hi guys

I am struggling to find any sketch up components that render in Vray - are there any sites to get hold of these or do I just need to build my own?

I know max have downloadable blocks - can anyone point me in the right direction of finding these PLEASE!!!

    Re: Components working with V-Ray

What exactly do you mean my components that render in V-Ray? Are you saying that you're components won't render or that you're looking for a library of components. If you're expecting a library, you've already got one in the Google warehouse. Grab any of those components and you can work with them in your model. At the moment, it is not possible for us to attach our V-Ray data directly to the components themselves, only to sketchup scenes. Since placing components just looks at the geometry data, not the scene data, V-Ray information doesn't transfer well with the raw components themselves.

Third party components for SketchUp are often a mess. At least if you look at Google Warehouse.
And one thing to remember is that SU models often "cheat". Single lines are often used to represent a fence pole for instance; and that won't render since V-Ray only render Faces.

Can you be more specific to what kind of models you are looking for? More detailed?

Or do you experience components not rendering at all? There is a bug that makes groups/component not render every time. This also depends on your V-Ray version.

At work we have an account at FormFonts. Medium/Low poly models, clean, correct scale and only a couple of layers.
Please mention what V-Ray and SketchUp version you are using when posting questions.
