Well, the easy way to do this is just to covert the image to a grayscale one and use that. Attached is from a few quick adjustments in PhotoShop, and it should work fine. If you want to get a little more "precise" about generating bump/displacement maps, then you should look into CrazyBump as that's a good software for generating those images from a base diffuse texture.
One last note, an image this small is going to lead to very poor bump/displacement. Its really best to do this with as large an image as you can swing.
