    Hi all,

I just have a very simple question. I installed the demo version, tried it out and liked it. I then bought a license and I have a serial number, but I can't find a place to enter it in for a stand alone license. Do I use the floating license manager even if I want it to be used as a stand alone license?

    Thanks!

p.s. I tried uninstalling the demo version but when i reinstalled, it didnt prompt me for how I would like to manage my license as shown in the install manual.

    Re: license

I had the same thing. Your 30 day demo time hasn't run out, has it?
I found that once the 30day demo time has expired I was presented with a dialogbox to enter my single license. It would be nice if there was an option to enter the license before the time runs out.
Please mention what V-Ray and SketchUp version you are using when posting questions.

Yea, this is something that we're going to make much easier in future versions. For now you have two options. The first is to wait out the demo period, as Thomas said, and activate once that finishes up. There's no difference between the demo and the commercial version, so you're not loosing anything by waiting. The second option is to go and find the file that contains your licensing info (which is currently for the demo) and delete that. When V-Ray doesn't find the file it will prompt you for a license and you can set it up as you wish. To get to this license file you can go to "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\ASGvis\Licensing" on XP or "C:\ProgramData\ASGvis\Licensing" on Vista and delete the VRFLLicense2.xml file. Note that Application Data and ProgramData are both hidden folders, so you will either have to show hidden folders or type it into the address bar. Also the ProgramData folder is all one word.

my version finally asked me for my serial number this morning which I entered and it gave a message 'not in our database' and doesnt allow me to continue. Who do I email to get this resolved promptly?

              Re: license

              Toubmor,
It looks like you have more of an installation problem than a licensing problem. Can you give details about the installation...is this on SU 6 or 7, what directory is SU in, do you have admin rights, was there a previous VfSU installation?

              Edonk,
Email support@asgvis.com and we'll get you going. Probably won't get a response till monday morning US east coast timeframe.
