  • Running Vray both on Sketchup 6 and 7

hello guys, I have read some old topic about vray sr1.5 for sketchup7 can run together with vray1.0 for sketchup 6, I have vray1.0 on SU 6 but then I recently downloaded vray1.5 30 day demo and installed it, the installer detected my old vray and tries to remove this even it is specified on google sketchup 7 plugins folder, why is this?
can i run vray both on SU 6 and 7? If it is possible, what will i do?

It is possible. My advice would be to let the SU 7 installer do its thing, then reinstall on SU6 if you so desire. I'm not sure why the SU7 installer is trying to uninstall the SU6 version, but I imagine its because of a registry key that was set. Have you ever installed a SU6 version of V-Ray in a SU7 directory?

Sir, I let SU 7 installer do its thing, and run vray SU 6 afterwards. Vray SU 6 was installed but then when I run SU7 again vray will not load anymore. hehe by the way, SU 6 and SU 7 are under google directory.

And No, I have never installed the vray for SU6 in SU 7 directory.

You need to make sure that you have the SketchUp 7 installer. If it does say VfSU7 in the file name, then you don't have the version for SketcUp 7. You can install on SketchUp 7 from the 6 installer, but it will "override" some of the settings from the previous installation, which is what it looks like you're running into.
