  • Scaling vismat with the material studio?

I am trying to use ths stone wall material, but the problem is that is doesn't scale like i wish to. Right now i am trying to adjust the material with material studio, but i don't know where to change the scale of the vismat. I am using a centimeters template and the texture is very small. The model that is visible next to the material studio screen is exactly 96 cm height. So the size of the vistmat is probably a few mm.

Is there someone who can explain me how to adjust the vismat within material studio so that it turns out right?

That will work, but ultimately this won't make a difference. The reason being is that the scale of the UVs will change on each object. So you maybe able to get a good scale in the material editor, but that won't translate to the objects that you actually apply it to in your scene. The better bet is to deal with the size of the mapping when its actually applied to objects within your scene rather than adjust UV repeats. Since you can use SU's mapping tools, this is generally a much easier task.

Use SU to scale and position the texture. Much more reliable.

When you need a displacement map in a specific height, use the multipiler value in the V-Ray material editor - the value is always inches no matter what your SU settings are.
Please mention what V-Ray and SketchUp version you are using when posting questions.
