Would it be possible to install both the new as the old version at the same time (one for SU6 and SU7?) on a vista x64 system?

yes, you can have separate versions installed on SU 6 and SU 7...note that you will probably need the newest version on SU7 and the older version on SU6

I am not very satisfied with this though.
Our office bought the license more than a month ago and they still didn't help me out.
No news on an update either.

How long has it been? The latest version of VforSU is simply too slow for me and the old one misses the easy material editor.
What about directional lights, combining HDR with sun/directional light in a proper way,skydome excluded from GI etc...
I hope development is catching up soon cause this is very slow.

Vray might be the best engine for SU around, but the product needs to be developed more.

Biebel are you using a different render other than Vray4SU? I am having problems with larger model sizes and dont know a good alternative to vray to use. Any ideas?

I am using some other engines (we have licenses for Maxwell and Fryrender) as well but was phasing them out in favor of Vray.
Currently I am still waiting for a VfSU update that combines the good stuff of the old and the new version together.

I hope someone of the Asgvis team could help me out getting the old version .
Purchasing a Vray license was not cheap, so we except at least a little help to get it on the rails....

I'll try to send you the version that you are requiring when I return to the office on Monday. We had to rewrite all of our stuff from scratch. We already have an internal build and believe me improve the parsing time process. We are giving it the final touch to the build. We will announce here when available to you.

Thanks for your reply, I'm actually an old maxwell user but obviously time wise Vray crushes it. How are you finding rendering large filesize models in Vray? Sometimes I just cannot get it to render out if my materials have displacement etc and the model is large (45mb+). Tried rendering a site with some good 3d trees over this weekend but I had no luck at all, it just kept crashing so had to resort back to Maxwell for that one.

Hi Edonk,

That is the reason why I am using the old Vray version. The long parsing time of the newer version is not workable for me on those bigger files.
And bigger files is all I render at the office.
I hope the new WIP release fixes that. I was too late for applying for the beta testing though.


Another question: I am trying to run both the old Vray as the new one but have trouble installing them ( old on SU 6 and new one on SU7).
Somehow the 1.5.30 VforSU installer won't let me install withot uninstalling the old one first .(it does that on the splash screen).
Is there any way to avoid the uninstalling of the the old Vray so I can run both?

try this:
1 change the name of folder where u got instal Sp + Vray
2 uninstal Sp + Vray
3 instal new Sp , then new Vray

now the old Sp/V should be still ine the rename folder and still work okej, and new one will be work too

in other program/play its work
