  • Having a slight problem with my Vray Sky in SU

    hi,

Having issues with my sky rendering, does anyone have a notion?

I have Physical camera enabled, the environment SKY and BACKGROUND are behaving predictably, but my nice bule gradiant sun wont render in the background... Just whiteness and a tint of blue pixalation around whats left.

here's the link to one of the problematic images. If anyone can help, please do. It's more than likely a small setting ive missed, but it does seem odd!

    cheers

If you want the vray sky in the backround then you select 'sky' in the environment - background - slot. To preserve this in the output I think you need to save the rendered image as a jpg, because a png will give you a transparent background.

If you want an image (hdri/png/jpg) as the backgound then you need to select 'bitmap' in in the environment - background - slot. Set the UVW to 'environment'. adjust the 'bitmap multiplier' to make sure it shows up in the background.

Personally I save as png and add the sky in PS - more control!!

your right there.. however thats the issue, the sky appears to be rendering on all 4 passes but when the final render pass occurs the sky dissappears from the blue to the white background.

Ive pretty much nailed all the little variable youve mentioned, but no sky renders... oddd because the windows pick the sky up and a nice gradiant is achieved there.

the png is an idea, however it seem there are blue pixal remnants at the very top edge that are interfering with the option you suggested.

If the sky appears to disappear only on the final pass, then it sounds like you may need to decrease its multiplier. In other words it may just be overexposed.
