    hi
    i checked inside sketchup my vray version and saw that its a 2007 vray for rhino...???

    can anyone clarify and explain if it is possible to d/l legaly some newer version of vray which is suitable for sketchup?

    That's a glitch in the old version of V-Ray for SU- the developers forgot to change the "About" details between the application versions, but don't worry, you do have V-Ray for SU, not V-Ray for Rhino. You wouldn't even be able to see V-Ray in the SU viewport otherwise.

    If you already have a valid V-Ray for SU license you can download the latest update at the following demo link and activate it with your license details.
