Is there a way to get shadows cast by Sketchup Sun to display while using standard camera? Or do you need to use Physical Camera?

You can get the correct exposure of the sun without using the Physical camera if you reduce the intensity of the sun. Go to environment rollout and decrease the "Intensity multiplier" to something like 0.05.

If anything the sun is not bright enough, I'm not seeing any shadows. This is an interior render and I want light to shine in from the exterior.

You can try to Increase sun's Intensity multiplier and decrease the burn value under color mapping (i recommend on reinhard type)
