  • Water levels in displacement

    Hi,

Is there any possibility to simulate the water levels fonction witch is available in the Vray for 3dsmax but not in the VrayforSU?

Unfortunately we don't have this option yet.

      waner_garouche,

I've never heard of it, can you explain a little what it does in 3DMax? There may be a workaround.

This option is to clip away geometry from the displacement.

        Please see the example two.

Other than the clip boundary quality in that example, what's the difference between that and just using a clipmap made using the displacement map as a selection mask in Photoshop?

Very quick (read: bad) example below, one standard displaced material and the same one clipmapped. Excuse the horrible colours, it's a test file for other displacement stuff.
