new vray slow?

I've just got the demo of the new vray and to me it seems that it is much slower than the older version. Is it just my system? The time from when i hit render to when the frame buffer actually appears seems a great deal longer than the older version. It's really frustrating at times because it seems like sketchup itself freezes.

Is there anything I can do about this?

Hmmmm..... the old Vray still seems much quicker. I think I'll stick with the old version for now.

I'm not a pro at this yet so I quite like making all my own materials. I thought the new Vray would be better as you can download ready made materials, but i'd much rather make and link my own via sketchup if it means the actual renders are much much quicker.

Because the parsing time is so long it makes the whole trial and error process very frustrating indeed. :-\

Am I right in thinking there isn't a material library for the old Vray?
