SketchUp's animation system is... special... And as far as other plugins that do some sort of animation, if there's no scenes for us to grab, then the animation won't render with V-Ray. If plugins want to add support for V-Ray, then we'll be happy to help where we can. We would like as many plugins to work with our product as possible. Nobody has ever contacted us about making their plugin work with ours though. Not that I know about anyway.
I myself don't really have any input about this topic though. I've only done simple animations in my tests, since that's all SketchUp's animation system was really designed for in the first place.
