material library for the old Vray?

Is there a material library for the old vray? If not is there any other way of getting hold of ready made materials for the old version?

Not as far as I know. And the lack of answers is probably an indication that there isn't one...

There no any old material library. But you can download the Material studio, open the material there and according with that you can try to create the material from scratch on the old build.

only prob.... the material studio cannot open these ready made downloadable materials either.

I suppose i'll just have to continue to learn how to make my own materials for now. I just like the old vray because of the quick parsing times. Its good for ppl like me who are still learning.

Perhaps when i get a little better I could upgrade to the newer version then the parsing times wont be as frustrating.

James, have you tried working with the new version and ensuring you only apply materials to faces and never groups/components?

Yes, you can. Right click on the "Scene Material" and select import new material.

I made some test, and you can import the material on the Material Studio. Just double check if you have the laster version of the Material Studio.

Perhaps this doesn't work for me because as I am using the old vray I am using the old material studio too. My material studio will not let me import downloaded materials :-[


I think I may give the the new vray trial another go and try to reduce the parsing times with the 'applying materials only to face technique'.
