  • Reducing noise in dark areas.

I'm doing an interior render where I get noise in the darker areas of the image.

I got 3 points lights and two rectangle lights.

I use IR and LC, and Adaptice DMC for Image Sampler.

    The DMC Sampler settings:
    Adaptive Amount: 0.85
    Min Samples: 16
    Noise thresh: 0.002
    Subdiv Mult: 4

I can't seem to find the correct section or setting to get the noise out.

    (I'll upload an image later)

...seems that I forgot to adjust the Noise Threshold on the Image Sampler... oops... Time to call it a weekend I guess.

what about the noise threshold? Never used it! Should it go up or down?

Lowering it will reduce noise - but increase render times.

didnt really made any difference in the noise in the dark areas.

Then you might have to increase the subdivs for your lights.
            (maybe also the DMC sampler.)
