  • Texture disappearing on VRAY... but its there!!

I have a scene where all the textures are properly applied at Sketchup.

Then when I render, some of the textures go GRAY!!

I check the VRAY Material Windows... those textures that went gray in the render appear gray in the mat window too! The material is there... but the linked image is not! I try to reselect the texture by selecting the same image again on the diffuse window. But inside the diffuse mat window, the preview is GRAY TOO!! What is funny is that if I select OTHER textures, they appear! On the textures that appeared gray in the render, when any of those is selected, they ALL appear gray.

    what is happening?

This happens sometimes, it's just the bitmap path getting screwed up thanks to SU's dodgy ruby API. The fix is to re-select the diffuse bitmap using the SU Material Editor, not the V-Ray Material Editor, but afterwards check that the correct diffuse map is showing up in V-Ray's Material Editor. Sometimes setting diffuse maps via the V-Ray Material Editor messes textures up, but it's easily fixed using the method above.

it seems that deleting the textures at VRAY´s TEMP folder also works.

seriously, there is something quite wrong with the way VRAY is managing its TEMP folder, considering how many people have that "not enough space in temp folder" problem, both here and at Sketchucation.
