    hi
i have import a jpg image us a texture. When i want to distort the image with the pins and render it, image dosn't show up on render as in sketchup view.

is there a way to make it work ?

    Re: distort images problem

You should be able to scale and rotate the texture, but not distort it. If you distort the texture, SketchUp will be unable to provide us with proper UV information, and thus the render will not look right at all.

If I'm wrong about this, I'm sorry. The new version that will be released this year will support scale and rotation of textures, so maybe I was confused.

Yeah, we have been looking in to supporting distorted textures. So far, we haven't found any other rendering engines that support SketchUp's garbage UV information fully either. Maybe one day Google will fix a few bugs that really step on our toes, until then though, an image editor such as PS or Gimp will be needed if you wish to alter a texture so it's distorted.

          Re: distort images problem

Turns out that those that does render the distorted images exports a unique texture for the faces with distorted images. But then you got the problem of maps on the other layers in that material won't match up. Distorted textures in SU is a pain in the ...neck ... for plugin developers. Been trying to push for more info on thsi.
