  • How to render a ambient occlusion pass?

Does anyone know what vfb should be used to render an ambient occlusion pass?
I have read a few max forums, but none of the answers seem to transfer across to skpvray.

I want to be able to control the ambient occlusion in post processing in photoshop.

    cheers

    Hi,

I did a render setting to fake an ambient occlusion pass, could that help you ?

The latest version of our software does have Ambient Occulusion. It's in the render options under Indirect Illumination.

But can we render out just the AO layer? Does it exist as an VFB layer?
Please mention what V-Ray and SketchUp version you are using when posting questions.

What I would do is render a new image with material override and ambient occlusion ON.
There you'll have your AO layer separated.

Yes, that is the way to render a AO pass, because we don't have an AO channel.

If you ever do an update, then a seperate AO pass would be great

We just purchased VR for SKP and I can't seem to find the ambient occlusion option in the Indirect Illumination tab. Am I missing something?

SKP 7 plus the latest Vray for SKP.

The ambient occlusion option is available only in the new build 1.48.... not in our old build 1.05.30.

So how do we get the new build? Do we just download from the website or is there a cost for the upgrade?
