  • Rendering just the scene?

does SU render just the scene when you apply the physical camera? Or does it render the entire model.

What is the best way to minimize rendering times in these situation when you have a larger then normal model.?

    Any tips would be appreciated.

    Re: Rendering just the scene?

Everything in the model adds time some way. Even hidden geometry adds time to the parsing time - due to the way SU is constructed under the hood.

To truly shave down rendering time rip out anything that isn't seen in the view or affects reflections & shadows.

I've had to render some Revit projects imported into SU. And they turn dead slow all to quickly. I now just rip out just want I need and ruthlessly delete anything else. This I do in a new copy oc course. So I have a model for each view. Or at least for each scene. I use the same model for multiple views if they have the same content anyway.

But for interiors I do a new model per room.
Please mention what V-Ray and SketchUp version you are using when posting questions.
