  • Antialiasing Filters

    Dear All,

I'm trying to expand my knowledge on the terminology of digital rendering in hopes of getting a better understanding of the many parameters in V-Ray's Option menu that I generally leave untouched.

I hear a lot about anti-aliasing filters, but I'm not sure what they mean or what they do.

Could someone explain to me in lamen's terms what anti-aliasing filters are and how they affect a rendering in V-Ray for SketchUp?
    I am currently using V-Ray 1.49.01.
    SketchUp 8.0.11752
    Windows 7 Professional-64 bit
    Intel(R) Core(TM) i5 K655 @ 3.20GHz
8.00GB of RAM, 1.2TB Hard Drive

Many of our controls, if you hover your mouse over them, already have every scrap of relevant information we could find on spot3d. It'll save you some time trying to navigate their site and find the particular parameter you're looking for.

Yeah, I've noticed that, and they were very helpful. But there are still some that didn't have any explanations, and those are the ones I want to know more about.

              Re: Antialiasing Filters

Our tooltips are a complete copy and paste job from Spot3d. If you see a control that doesn't have a tooltip, there's probably no explanation on Spot3d. We didn't write any tooltips of our own unfortunately.
