  • Material help guys!

    Hi everyone....

New to this forum so please be gentle ;D

I am trying to apply a material to my sketchup render. It is a wooden floor effect. I have looked at how to do this on the vray site and it says that when you apply a material as you do in sketchup it should automatically import the image into the vray material browser. But when i do this and then open the vray material browser there is nothing there apart from the default material!

Can anyone shed some light on this?

    Thanks in advance!!

    Re: Material help guys!

Are you by any chance using the original version of VfSU? That one did not auto-link SU and VfSU materials.

Please state the version you are using when posting questions - there's been 4 releases that all have some areas where they act differently.
Please mention what V-Ray and SketchUp version you are using when posting questions.

It sounds like you're using a much older version of V-Ray. If that's the case, and if my memory serves me right, I believe you'll have to right-click the "Scene Materials" in the V-Ray Material Editor.
Then choose "Add New Material" and choose "Add VraySkpMtl." A list of all the SketchUp materials should come up, just select the wood material that you've created.

If you have the newest version of V-Ray (v1.48.66) and you're having this issue, that might be something to report to technical support.

      Cheers!
      I am currently using V-Ray 1.49.01.
