Increase VfSK Rendering Speed

Hi guys.. i msged the some admins but guess they are too busy coping with everyones questions. Therefore decided to post my question here.. i'm thinking of getting a new CPU, intel i7 with 64bit windows 7 and 6gb ram and quadro fx580 graphics card. my question is what exactly increases the vfsk rendering speed? i've read that vfsk is a software render therefore is it true that adding rams (eg: 6gb ram) would make the render times faster? or is it dependant on the graphics card too?

CPU speed and number of CPU affects the speed the most.
It does not use the GPU.

Since SketchUp and V-Ray for Sketchup is 32bit application only 2-3GB RAM will be utilised.


You do benefit from the GPU when modelling though. And having more RAM allow you to have more applications running more easily.
