  • How to cover a sphere with ONE picture

    Hello there,

I'm quite new to this whole thing-I just downloaded 'Sketchup' and the trial version of Vray.
    Being a newbie,I had a question:
How can I cover in a easy way a whole sphere with ONE picture (this picture is taken by a specialized photographer and is a kind of equirectangular fisheye photo)

    Thanks in advance...

UV mapping in SU is very very poor.

You can improve it with these plugins:

This photo - are you trying to use it as scene background?
Please mention what V-Ray and SketchUp version you are using when posting questions.

      @ thomthom

      hello ,

Actually what I'm trying to do is putting-or maybe projecting would be a better word- a photograph (more in particular a equirectular version of a panoramic photograph on a sphere.

I actually want to make a painting on a sphere from this photograph, but I needed a way to have an impression first how it would look (the purpose is creating a trompe-l'oeil painting, and I need it to see it first in order to avoid distortions)
