  • distributed rendering errors

    Good Afternoon.

On one of our machines, i am getting the following error messages. I have attached a screen cap.

    http://picasaweb.google.ca/Fre3Y0urM...35931585084274

When the rendering machine trys to use this Distributed Renderer, it crashes.

We are using VRAY ver 1.48.83

That is not an error, the DR is ready and waiting for a job. That message is normal

      Re: distributed rendering errors

well... the previous version didn't give these messages.

so we feed a rendering into it and we get the following....
      http://picasaweb.google.ca/Fre3Y0urM...57831078117218

highlighted in red is the message. The machine doing the rendering attaches to the distributed rendering starts a DR session, then it says Error Receiving the DR scene.

this is a very simple test rending that we are trying this with.

          Re: distributed rendering errors

i have loaded the DR on 2 other machines. They are giving the same messages and errors.

Once the source machine hits the DR machine, the DR machine gives the unable to download message and stops.

the Source machine will continue rendering.

for far all 3 machines have done the same thing.

the exact same thing is happening here at my office. my machine is the "spawner" machine and a co-worker is using the "server" machine. please help! are we missing some sort of small setting?

should i try installing the entire suote on the "spawner" machine to see if that will work? right now i am only running the DR spawner. just thought i'd ask first... doont think it will make any difference though.

                    Re: distributed rendering errors

no, that shouldn't make a difference. I just heard a report that our latest beta version may have a version of DR that is more stable. We just fixed an issue that occurs with large scenes, which prevented them from rendering properly. This may have had an effect on DR, but we really don't know yet, we just released the latest version 1.48.88 this morning, so we're still waiting on feedback. If you would like to test this version out, just sign up to be a beta tester here: The Mighty Bug Hunt! We are always looking for new feedback from users, especially users that have encountered a particular bug that we may have just fixed.

If beta isn't for you, no worries, we will release the next stable version as soon as our testers give us a thumbs up on a build.
                    Best regards,

                        Re: distributed rendering errors

right on, yeah we like to have feedback from users that experience issues like this in our beta forum. It's surprisingly hard to get useful feedback from users that aren't having trouble. So the more crazy issues we get to hear about, the more we get to fix!
