  • QUESTION ABOUT MAPPING

    Hi.
recently i rendered a sceene of a terraza and i realized that there were a lot of mapping mistakes in the furniture (some wooden tables and chairs) so i edited components, and every single face of the furniture by right clicking and going to texture and position... i fixed everything, but when i render, not all of the things that i corrected are shown the way i left them in sketchup... does anybody know why that's hapening?

Vray will not pick up any 'stretched' textures. Basically you are limited to using the SU texture - rotate tool, which at least gets things pointing in the right direction. Scaling of textures needs to be done in the SU materials editor. So basically don't stretch textures.

        Re: QUESTION ABOUT MAPPING

The only other point about textures is they need to be applied to the basic faces, and not to groups or components. Some components, like a chair, can be made up of sub-components, so it is important to drill down to the lowest level before applying the texture. I would try exploding the component, apply the textures and make it a component again. TomTom created a plugin to fix this - 'remove C- G materials'. In the past I've found that a re-sized component can also cause texturing issues.

        Good Luck

Yes it is true, the problem is when the object has too many "Shapes/faces"....the textures do not work so well!
at least it has happened to me and still can not resolve, even resorting to soften edges ...
but the best result to me, was referred Mr. David, explode; apply and create again new groups or components!

          Good Luck

thank you, very, very much for your time.
i know i should have said this before, but i did explode components... of course, after applying textures to every single face of the chairs...
this is some work i already finishd, but i'd really like to improve those little details for the future...
