  • may this be a bug?

hi, i just wanted to know if i'm having troubles with a bug...
i'm using... 1.48.83 and i rendered a sceene like 4 or five times to set materials and illumination, but when everything was ready i changed the vray options settings and hit render, and there's been 3 hours and prepasses have not started...
i don't really know if there's something wrong, or how much extra time it will take cause there's no progress bar...
i want to believe that rendering will take time cause i'm using 3 two sided materials, but i'm really worried cause vray buffer has looked exactly the same for about 2 hours... please help

    why aren't you using 1.48.89?

If it says that SketchUp is still processing the scene in the SketchUp window's status bar, then it's still processing the scene. I usually close the vfb in between renders, so I know when the render started.

Re: may this be a bug?

1.48.89 was released on July 16th, so you probably have .89. You can check in the Window->Preferences->Extensions window. You should see V-Ray for SketchUp listed there. If you select it, the version number should be displayed in the details below.

Sorry that the progress window isn't there, it's lower on the list than DR, which also doesn't work. The best way I can think to check to see if a render is still progressing, is by checking the task manager to see if the memory usage is changing. If there's an error while rendering, you should see an error dialog pop up telling you there was a problem while rendering.

well, it was working after all... thank you very much.
i moved to 1.05 and the one that i have now in just a couple of months, and i have to say that improvements in the program have been great.
i was waiting for v.2 to update, but i'm really happy with the results...
          thank you for your time
