  • Question about spliting final render into few parts

    Hi everyone,

I have a question about a method to split final render into few parts. Its mean that I am looking for tips to split my scene into few passes like:

    - only normal materials
    - only displacment materials (seperate render only that geometry which have displacment)
    - only some water displacment/bump geometry
    - etc. ...

And then to have possibility to match them all in one in PS. (without diffrence in geometry shadows)

or maby is another way to split final viewport into 3 or more part or smth like that.

I am asking for that becouse i have a problems to achive big resolution in more or less complex scenes but with very high settings in render options, materials etc.

I hope You understand what I want to learn and I am sure any replies will be some kind of benefit for everyone.

All we know that achive render with many materials and high settings in 12000x8000 or much biger resolution is hard without problems (memory limits etc) but that isnt subject of this topic.

Methods to split parts of geometry, materials, viewports or whatever you can invent into few parts they are.

    Best Regards

p.s. (sorry for my english) ;p

      Region render?

But then you might run into issues with shadows and how the model reacts with or without whatever you are not rendering.

I dont think you can just render materials. and then compile them in PS

Are you running into long renders?

well, i do that a lot in the office cause i got just a couple of dinosaur pc's, but i don't render only certain materials... i divide the render in parts... i mean, delete or remove materials from the bottom and the middle, and just save the top part... cause it's hard to blend everything together, for example, if you have a chair on a carpet, and you render the carpet without the displacement... the shadow of the chair would be different on the carpet...
that's just an example... this is hard to explain :P

For example: i would like to render my complex scene in 12000x6000 resolution which have lot of materials (20-30) some with displacment if nessecery and few higher resolution textures. All we know problems with memory limits. I have ram patch and i can use about 3.6gb of my ram but in high resulution renders that isn't enought. Rendering to vrimg save not enought memory. I am looking for any solution to be able to render high detailed scene in very high quality settings. If someone have any own idea should share it with us

you know what... post your image... if you want, in a smaller size, so we can advice you...
was this render going to be for the contest?
