Hey guys, i have a few queries that hopefully someone can help me with.
1- In light cache, there's an option - Use light cache for glossy rays. Why would you not want the light cache to calculate the lighting of glossy rays? Seems to save a lot of rendering time.
2- Saving maps from a 800x600 render and then rendering high res (1600px +) with them seem to render like it would and it saves a lot of time. Why is this though? am i losing some fine quality by doing this? I assume so. I haven't done the test of rendering from scratch at 1600px + because of time constraints, but if i did, would i notice a difference between the two renders?
3- I've read many threads and the manual, but i still don't fully understand what "affect background" "clamp output" and "sub-pixel" mean in the color mapping, can anyone care to explain them in laymans terms please?
4- When a render comes out with washed out colours, what's the most relevant thing to adjust, knowing that the same materials in a different scene look fine, is it camera, adjust amount of light in the scene, color mapping values, gamma settings or the GI engines?
5- How do you go on about deciding the multiplier amount in the GI engines?
Thanks in advance for any answers
