  • My material renders completely black...

First, apologies for this easy (for you) question.

I'm new to Vray for SketchUp and havent got a clue how to use the material editor. I'm furiously reading (and trying to understand) the manual however if I download a concrete material from Luz Indirecta for example, when I load it into the material editor and apply to an object, it renders completely black.
What am I doing wrong? Or, can anybody point me in the direction of a good tutorial?
    Many thanks, Matt.

Re: My material renders completely black...

The reason it is black is because the material you downloaded has the material looking at the images of your texture in the folder that the maker of that material had it in for example he might have had them in C:\georgebush\materials\brick\brick.jpg

but you obviously don't have the file in that exact folder, so in the material editor click on the material and in the diffuse part there is a "m", click on it and find the texture that looks like a normal texture. Then in the bump part (if the material has bump) click on the "m" again and select the texture called "bump" (if it isn't called that, it's usually a black and white image with high contrast and brightness).
