  • Sketchup tree transparency

I am completely new to Vray for sketchup so forghive me if this is such a basic question. I have done a search on this issue and can't find the exact answer to my question.
The other day I did my first render using sketchup 2d trees. What I found is the transparency of the trees was gone.
My question is. Do I need to make an alpha texture and remake the tree texture as a vary texture or is there a setting in the render options that needs to be set?

    Re: Sketchup tree transparency

for vray 1.05, you need to make an alpha map of that texture and apply it as a transparency map

for vray 1.48.xx you can just tick "use color for transparency"

Thanks for the answer. I'm using the latest version 1.48xxx. I tried using the colour but it made the whole image transparent. Can you give me a bit more detail on how I do this. You will have to for give me I'm real new with this program. I normally use Max so I have some understanding of 3d.

            Re: Sketchup tree transparency

"use color for transparency"only works with images, tiff and png

with jpg images, use images alpha
