Problems saving a rendered image

I´ve just started working with Vray for Sketchup Pro8 and my problem is that I can´t save the rendered image - although a "save as..." window pops up and I choose a name and a format, no file is created. Does anyone know how I can fix it?

Do you have any non-English characters in the filename / pathname?

I no, I don't have any. Moreover, if I set "save image" in the general settings window (options/output) an error occurs - nothing is saved and very often there is an error- no rendering at all, even for preview. The error info says that I should check the details in the error log, but I don't know where to find it.
