  • Visopt for 1.48.89

    Hi all,

All the visopt I found seems to render weird in Vray 1.48.89 (very white, too much exposure...)
Is that a known bug ?
Should the visopt that we can get in the download section should work with that vray version ?

    Thanks

    Re: Visopt for 1.48.89

Do you know what scene the vispot where made for?

If you download a visopt that was made for interior and you use it for exterior it's quite likely that you'll get an overexposed scene as interior shots require the camera to allow more light in to ensure the exposure comes out right.

If things are too dark or too light then you want to look at your Camera settings.

Also - some people make visopts that are made for Physical Camera -some don't. That difference is important because the values you use for your lights will vary greatly.
(This is one of the reasons why I never use third-party visopts - one doesn't know exactly what scene the visopt was made for. And it's most likely not going to be optimized for your scene.)

        I don't know - I never use it.

I start off with the default VfSU settings - then adjust camera exposure to match my scene's light condition.

It might help if you describe the result you want to achieve. And post some images of what you got.

here is an exemple of what I got.. Don't you find that the white walls are too... white ? I mean too much lighty.. It doesn't seems real (I use a Gypsum_bump vismat for those walls)

I tried différents settings in my physical caméra tab but still got the same result

Yes, it looks rather plain. But this is something where you need to work on your materials and not so much the visopts. (Maybe you need to decrease the light a tad to avoid the white wall suffering from burnout.)

That wall material you use - how does the material diffuse look like? Does it have a texture, or is it completely white material? (one should avoid using 100% white for materials)
