DR with nodes using different OS's (32/64 bit)?

Hi guys,

Please excuse the hit-and-run nature of my posting these days, I'm just managing to find the time to get back into 3D modelling and rendering (don't do any in my arch day job any more). I'm going to buy a new laptop soon, and was just wondering if anyone can confirm or disconfirm that VfSU's Distributed Rendering has any issues with nodes running different OS's? The new laptop will be Windows 7 Home Premium, but my current laptop can only run 32-bit. Will this be a problem running DR with the old lappy as a node? Will I even need to upgrade my current laptop OS to W7 32bit or can I just keep it's current XP 32-bit setup?

The DR has issues. Period.

But when it works properly again it should work across OSs.

(In any case - with the old VfSU I ran the DRSpawner under Ubuntu and Wine.)

Thanks for the info (had a feeling it'd be you who'd have the answer! ). Latest excuse for my lack of activity beta-wise is that the bearings of the fan in my trusty 4-year old laptop have started wearing out, meaning I need to strip the whole thing down (keyboard, optical drive, screen, motherboard, heatsink, fan... in that order) to replace it. It's time to get a new machine anyway, but I'd love to keep this one running for DR farming duties, so until I get the new one rendering is very strictly limited for fear of wrecking my CPU.

Can't wait to get stuck back in (feel like I've said that more than once before) to the VfSU beta,
