Scene not rendering

Hi,

I rendered a model today in vray for sketchup 6 but when i opened the model in sketchup 7 and tried to render it in the new version of vray (1.48.49) it worked once and then will not work any more. It says that "vray is processing the scene" and then nothing happens and the message just disappears.

There isn't even any vray materials in the model so I don't know why this is happening. I also removed all of the light settings too so it was back to just the default settings.

I am quite annoyed as my company bought this program and it just isn't working. We are also have problems getting the spawner to work but thats another issue all together.

Any advice would be much appreciated!!

1.48.49 is not the latest - .89 is the latest public release.

Did you try loading the default visopt? (when you bring up the options editor - it's the third button at the top left of the window "Load defaults")

oh sorry that was a typo on my part. It is 1.48.89.

I did try restoring the defaults and it didnt work but I will give it another try and see what happens...

Submit the scene to ASGVis. They have fixed a few bugs that could cause this in the current beta - but submit the model just in case so they can test it.

Hi Everyone,

I am experiencing the same problem, I downloaded the vray 30day trial yesterday as I have previously been using kerkythea, I rendered my scene once using sketchup pro 8 and know it says it's processing the scene but then doesnt start the render. I have tryed restoring the default and had no joy.

I opened a new sketchup and made a simple model and it completed the render. So do you think my initial model is too complex for vray?

it could be that there is a Ruby error happening. Prior to rendering the scene, try opening the Ruby console. If you see any errors pop up, let us know. Otherwise, it could be possible that there's another error occuring in Python. Those errors show up in our error log.

Yeah, so there's definitely a ruby error happening there... I don't think I've seen that one before. Would it be possible to send us the scene file so we could examine it further? I've seen some odd issues relating to lights in the past, but those issues usually relate to trying to render a scene made with an older version of our product. I'm assuming this scene has never touched V-Ray for SketchUp, so I doubt that is the issue in this case. The error doesn't seem to be anywhere near our code that relates to lights either.

I'm also curious if this issue occurs in our latest beta version. You can join up to be a beta tester if you'd like, but I can also test out the scene myself in the latest beta if you'd prefer.
